Doc, I only know about 2 software packages, Rocky and KGKSDR, and they use totally different interfaces. The Rocky interface is simple and the software is also pretty simple and works well so that's the one I went with. It doesn't look like there's a standard, they each used totally different RS-232 lines to do keying, PTT, etc.
Look at the Help file in Rocky, it's got the schematic there, it's very simple, I just built it onto the 1/4 stereo phone jack. 73, Kerry, WD5ABC --- In [email protected], "David Colburn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Oh, one additional question, please? > > Is the "Rocky" interface exclusive to the "Rocky" control app or do > most of the apps use the same interface? > > I will be looking for a Linux-based control app. > > > What is the longest cable and the best switch to use to remote (a few > > inches) the band modules for a multi-band switched vs plug-in/out > > rig? > > > > Also, is the key difference between the Lite+Xtall v8.3 and the > > RXTX+Xtall v6.3, the addition of the TX side? > > > > Tnx! & 73, doc KD4E >
