I am in the process of doing the same thing with a serial port A/B 
switchbox.  The only rub is that it's generally recommended not to connect 
the antenna common, power supply ground and sound card common together, to 
avoid a ground loop.  If you're not using connectors on the back panel of 
the box you should be fine, but I've decided to use a sheet of plastic 
replacing the back panel, so that I can just mount connectors to it.
