Fletch, The CB550 has dual down tubes from the steering head. I like the Quicksilver fairing just fine. It should be a nice size for the 400. Keeps the wind from blowing on your chest and trying to take off your Helmet. I find this fatiguing when speeds average over 40 MPH. The drawbacks to the fairing are that it doesn't have locking storage. And, that it has a rectangular headlight that has pretty high wattage; 75/90 if I recall correctly. While the brightness is nice to have, the electical load really taxes the charging system. The battery will run down if there is a lot of stop and go traffic when the RPM average stays below 2500. If you still have the stock turn signal flasher, they quit when the battery voltage drops. I haven't looked up the specs. But, I think the 400 charging system has even less output than the CB550. I've not been able to locate a lower wattage headlight for it. Something to think about, anyway.
