Not too likely. When you attempt to telnet into the server, do you see blocked
packets in the
sonicwall log? If that's a yes and you've already deleted and re-added the rule, and
rebooted it,
then I'd re-flash the firmware. First export the current settings to file. If that
STILL doesn't
work, I'd call the ISP but that's gonna be a long shot that they're not allowing
specific packets to
a specific IP that you own.
If you don't see blocked packets in the sonicwall log, check your own router first.

Tried both, neither fixed the problem. Keep the ideas coming, but could
it be that our ISP is blocking telnet somehow (could this be done on
their router?)?

I'd just delete the rule then re-add it again. If that doesn't work
reboot the firewall.

                    sonicwall

Come into work today and many remote users can't get into one of my
servers. Nothing has changed on the sonicwall, and I'm looking for a
silver bullet to fix this problem.

The rule that is failing is telnet, over TCP/IP (23,6). You can ping
the box, but you can't telnet into it from outside.

I can telnet into it from inside, so I *know* that telnet is up and
running on the box. Other rules are working for other servers...

Anyone else experience something like this?
Does the SonicWall need to be rebooted?
What troubleshooting steps would you follow?

Is this Monday or what?
