H.E Kiir meets Tony Blair BRUSSELS, 21 March 2012 - President of the Republic H.E Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit met this morning in a presidential suite at Conrad Hotel in Brussels with Mr. Tony Blair the former Prime minister of UK.
They discussed the general situation in the country in terms of basic needs which he described as a huge challenge the young nation is facing. Mr. Blair told the press after the meeting that the visit of the President to Brussels has a very important political meaning, for Brussels is the center of everything happening in Europe. He pointed out that H.E Kiir has the opportunity to meet EU important institutions, and the visit will plug the Republic of South Sudan into the European system.
