This should be possible. If I remember correctly, there is a full wrapper around Cal3D available in Soya and all this functionality is there. However, be aware that this is *not simple* task - it is pretty low level stuff and if you want to drive the bones yourselves, you will need to tinker with the Cal3D things such as the animation mixer. It is certainly possible to do it, but it is not really simple (who said that skeletal animation is simple?) Look in the archives, I did explain this some time ago to another developer.
