The Caitian shook her head, the golden mane swaying around her shoulders.
"Not much I'm afrrraid. She went out on a mission, the kind of mission the
Rrrihannsu goverrrnment doesn't talk to Starrrfleet admirrrals about, and
she neverrr ame back." There was pain in her voice when she said it; the
scenario was far too similar to her own loss to not affect her.

"I don't know. I know he wants to think that she's alive." She had to sip
at her wine then to soothe her own turbulent thoughts. "It's not in him to
give up hope." It wasn't in her either. She busied herself with her pipius
claw to force herself to think about something other than what was making
her hands shake. She wondered why she was being so emotional that day.
