(ooc: thanks to chris--I missed this-it would change my response in the
meeting but it would just be to acknowledge it so no rewrite needed)

 > To Dais, "Commander....how goes the work?"

 > "I am settling into thing quickly, sir," replied Dias. "I must admit,
 > though, that I have come across a situation in which I would greatly
 > appreciate your advice."

"What is that?" Lorin said as they walked.

 > "Well, sir, earlied today, I was called down to customs to deal with a
 > situation with one of the Bajoran delegation. Apparently, he had been
 > searched by customs after some confusion with his paperwork and admitting
 > that he had a personal weapon not allowed by current transfer laws. I was
 > able to gloss over the illegal inspection by asking the delegate to turn
 > over his weapon until it was time to leave the station, which he agreed
to."

Lorin was not to concerned about this-weapons occassionally get discovered,
"That was handled well."

 > "That is not all, sir. During the scan taken by customs, it was clear that
 > the delegate had a dismembered human hand on his person. I know that we
 > cannot legally do anything about that information since it was learned
 > during an illegal scan against a person with diplomatic immunity. I have
 > since had a chance to meet with Ambassador Palen. He has agreed to look
 > into the matter and to have a Starfleet officer work with him."

Lorin's eyebrows furrowed "Commander, a dismembered human hand signifies
either injury or death to someone who we serve. Immunity or not-They are
probably going to sweep it under the rug. They were probably embarrassed
and will want to let it die rather than have a full investigation. We will
definitely take part in this."

 > "Well, sir, I was wondering which office you would recommend I refer this
 > to. I really don't have much in the area of a Security or a legal
 > background. My diplomatic one is limited as well, with my only experiences
 > in any of these areas being part of starship operations."

"Put Commander Joseph Garibaldi on it on my command. Give him a full
briefing on it and tell him I and Captain Boulay want reports back on this
please."
