there would be no chances taken. She set it down in front of him and then sat
across from him. She had an easy air of authority around her, one she'd
cultivated as an admiral, letting him know that while he may be in charge of
his people, she was the ranking officer on board the ship. It was subtle, but
she knew he would sense it. Even the humans could sense that air.
