The two were connected for several minutes. While they were connected, a
great tension could be seen on the their faces. It suddenly eased, and they
eventually ended the meld.
Sulin, for her part, looked no worse for ware. Samuel, for his part,
looked like he embodied a battlefield after the main event. Surprisingly he
quickly recovered.
The report was not what anyone had expected. First off, there was not any
evidence of any undue influence. In fact there was a benelivance about it. As
if it honestly were done for the benefit of the Admiral. However, there was
some bad news. The full extent of the bond could not be determined. While
the examining the nature of the bond, there was some resistance to the
examination. Venasians have strong telepathic protection mechanisms, and to
one extent or another that translates to the bonded. The short of the long of
the story is that Sulin could sense that some control could be exerted in
'normal' curcumstances, but she got the feeling that this was not a normal
bond. Something was different, but she could not say what. Not for sure.
She was not, could not, be sure if outside influence could be exerted.
By the end of her accounting Lasiter was long recovered.
