En route to Pacifica...

Celana looked up from her book, a quizzical expression crossing her face.

"What is it?" Salaar asked from the other side of the room, where he had been sending a communication to his wife. While he didn't see the T'remea, he could feel the mild change in her emotions.

"Something... someone else is touching Admiral Lasiter's mind."

"Another Venasian?" Salaar's ice calm had not yet broken, since it was apparent Celana was not affected.

"I don't believe so. The telepathic signature is... incompatible with mine."

"Who then?"

She shrugged unknowingly. "Hard to say, but considering the different telepathic species likely to be on Spacedock, I would conjecture a Betazoid, Vulcan, or an Andorian."

"Are they trying to break the Bond? Or trying to influence you in some way?"

"If he is, he will undoubtedly find it difficult, considering Venasian telepathy is based on a completely different physiological pathway than terran humanoid telepathy. Just as I cannot glean any specific information from his telepathic touch, he won't be able to from mine. And, my defense mechanisms will trigger long before any harm can come to me." She smiled faintly. "It was just an... odd feeling. It almost tickled."

A new voice broke in from overhead, the pilot letting the Ambassador know they would soon be approaching Pacifica, and that the Council had set up a time for the hearing. Celana thanked the captain, and went back to her reading.
