SPD: Venasian Intelligence (ATTN: Ambassadors)

Golan sat in his office.  The Council Meeting had gone well.  For the most part, all parties had agreed that working together in dealing with the Venasian coup was in their best interest.  That is not to say that things could not have gone more smoothly.  The new Klingon Ambassador was going to provide an interesting twist to the Council.

Just then, Tamil stuck his head into the office.  "Ambassador, we have just received a package via courier for your eyes only."

Golan waved the young man over to his desk.  "Let's see it."

Tamil brought the package over and deposited it on his desk.  Once he was gone, Golan opened the package and found a PADD inside.  He activated it and received a much waited for intelligence report.  According to those in place on the Venasian colonies within Cardassian space, of which there were four, the Venasian seemed to be accepting the coup with little excitement.  It suprised Golan, remembering back to the coup that took place years earlier on Cardassian Prime shortly before the Dominion War

The Venasian ambassador who was granted political asylum was still trying to piece together the events.� She still had not explained how she knew to get out in time.  Golan was once again surprised to hear that his government was not issuing more pressure on her to reveal that information.

Golan tapped a comm channel to Tamil.  "Please send a message to the chief members of the Council requesting that they meet in my office.  I have some news for them, and I have a feeling they may also have some of their own to share."  With that he closed the line and waited until the other Ambassadors arrived.
