"This all seems a little too politically correct for my taste," was T'Kresh's response. "The Venasians are a proud people. I cannot imagine that they would sit back while a small number of military personnel override their traditions."

"I would not be so sure of that," replied Valtris. "They have been without a homeworld for some time. Their ruling council had been pushing for an alliance with the Federation, and that provided little assistance, as did their more recent agreement with the Dominion. Sometimes current needs can overpower tradition. Just think of what happened with the explosion at Praxis. It provided the need for changes both in our own culture and that of the Federation, which allowed our too peoples to become allies," said Valtris with a smile toward Na'Tral.

She smiled back, ever so diplomatically. "Then let us hope that the change in culture does not evolve into a firm alliance between the Dominion and the Venasians. That would prove to be the single most important threat to the safety of our combined peoples in this quadrant.
That said, I am afraid that I can offer little new information. Federation intelligence agencies report similar reactions from those Venasians within our borders. In fact, Venasians have been reported being welcomed into the Embassy again. This is mildly surprising as the Venasian Military appears to be in control of their embassy on Spacedock." the Andorian offered.

Valtris was surprised to hear about this.  "Has there been any official announcement from the Embassey?" she asked.
