> "Please continue, Dr Ryan.", Lasiter said to the young doctor.

Lucas took a small blood sample and ran it through the instrument. After a
few moments, it bleeped. Lucas looked up and nodded at Lasiter. Aloud, he
said, "I'm sorry I can't be of any more help, Admiral, but I don't know
anything about any network Dr. D'amondra may have been a part of."

While saying this, he opened his case and drew a small,
uninteresting-looking grey box out and handed it to Lasiter. "A word of
advice, Admiral, if I may be so bold. Don't try looking into the matter any
further. If Dr. D'amondra doesn't want it to be found, you can be sure she
took a lot of measures to make sure it won't be. Venasians are... a lot
different than we are, from what I've seen. A lot sneakier, if you ask
me..."

Lasiter was confused. First the sheepish, young doctor was now acting quite
bold, and possibly arrogant. Yet, knowing the venasians as he did, the
riddle of this mysterious box and blood test held vast possibilities.

"Doctor, you are quite right about the Venasians. They are quite..., sneaky
as you put it." he answered taking the box, and giving it a quick look over
before setting it on his desk. "Since, it appears as if I have been told a
whopper about this illedged network, and that I have wasted your time, I
most sincerely apologize. I wish you the best of luck with your research,
and that Dr. D'amondra returns soon. Thank you for coming..."
