> "Good. Then it is decided. You will see something this evening. How much time
>before your meeting?"
"It's at 2230 hours," she replied. (OOC: I think)
"Then you should go prepare. Thank you for your report, Admiral. Good luck."
"I'll do my best, sirrr. Thank you," she said, then left. She gave M'Rrenn a look as
she headed out that said why do we do these things for the humans? and headed back to
her office.
As Kitanya left Lasiter's office she heard him call to his executive aide, "Lynn,
please call Rear Admiral Tyrus Lasiter. Tell him that his brother would like to talk.
Just before he arrives get me Logististics Command, and pass Ty in."
"Yes, sir."
"Thank you..."...........
First she prepared a secure message to Rear Admiral Jora via Captain Alexander. In
it, she said how Jora's words had really made her think about the situation and that
she had reconsidered her complete refusal of interest in the CinC's position. She was
interested in investigating just how much support she could get for a run at the top
seat, and asked Jora to spread the word around a little to see who might be interested
in backing
her. She signed off on the message and sent it off.
Moments later her note was acknowldged by Capt. Alexander.
Her next step was to change all her passwords and codes. That would slow down anyone
snooping on Kettering's behalf. She also backed up critical files onto data chips and
locked them in her vault. Installing some passive monitoring programming was the next
phase. The program would not try to attack or infiltrate an invader, but instead
would monitor and record all information from the invader's source, including what
files they were trying to gain access to. Lastly, she created some bogus documents
with interesting names and set them under a medium-high security clearance- just
enough to tantalize. Anyone who got them and tried to use them would immediately give
away who they were and would be easily traceable. They appeared just real enough to
make someone believe they were her actual files, but contained information she could
prove was false - a nice red herring for someone's fishing expedition.
Feeling she'd prepared herself as best she could in such a short time, she headed down
to Maryland for the night meeting.
Balitmore was quite this evening, quite as usual. The city was not quite the hot
bed of activity that other North American cities such as New York, Los Angeles, or
Chicago. However, it was 'Charm City'.
She walked along the dimly lit streets of the urban, university campus she came to
Davidge Hall. The cemetary that was just a few blocks away was the linch pin to the
building's somewhat grizzly history. Upon entering, she was greeted by another old
friend, Commander Jamison. The very officer that had brought her into the group.
"Vice Admiral Kitanya it is so nice to see you again. I see that you have been
busy. Rear Admiral Jora has been making the rounds talking about CinC Lasiter's
promise as top Admiral, and possible successor to him.... a certain Caitian Rear
Admiral..."
{response?}
