As she was making her rounds, she saw Kettering doing the same. She also saw the
young Lasiter tear Kettering away from his hand shaking to give him some kind of
warning. Lasiter was making a good case, at least it looked like it. Kettering for
his part did not look convinced or impressed.

She'd play into it, whatever came up. Maybe Lasiter the Younger was having some
doubts? Or maybe Lasiter the Elder had worried him.

Jora came by, interrupting Kitanya's hand shaking at Lasiter did for Kettering.

"Admiral Kitanya, welcome. I am pleased to say that there is a great deal of
interest in you and your consideration of the top slot. The officers here want to get
to know you. They want to hear what you have to say. Shall I say congratulations..."

"Not just yet," smiled Kitanya. "You made me think about it, and I am verrry pleased
to hearrr about so much supporrrt, but I want to make surrre to do this rrright and
not jump into something on the spurrr of the moment. But I would be morrre than happy
to speak to them," she said with a tone of
pleasant excitement. "And I would welcome theirrr thoughts as well."

"I will set up something in the next few days. Something casual and low key. Shall
I work with you directly on a time and place, or shall my 'people' call your
'people'?" Jora asked using the old human expression.

   {response}

"Very well then. It looks like it is time to take our places." the Betazoid said
making note of end of the milling about.
