>Just then, another Venasian patrol appeared, this time with a very
>authoritative military officer in the lead. She appeared to be the
typical
>Venasian - dark haired, pale white skin, blue eyes with gold flecks -
>except that she was tall for a Venasian woman (who were usually small and
>petite.) TALL. And broad-shouldered, like some aquatic Amazonian
warrior.
>Something didn't seem quite normal about her physical appearance, but she
>might have been considered beautiful - had she not appeared about as
>approachable as an arctic wolf. The badge on her uniform indicated she
was
>a Mora'sai (commander) in the Venasian fleet.
>
>"I am Commander R'saran," she told them. The universal translator
remained
>off; she was speaking in Standard. "I understand you are having some
>difficulty returning to your hotel. Allow me to escort you safely back."
>
>"That will not be necessary, Commander R'saran. We know the way back,
and
>we are nto heading straight back. There is a market that we are going to
>first. We do not wish to take you away from your duties."
She didn't seem to care for his tone, because the gold in her eyes glinted. "This is
my duty. You are still on restricted property; I will escort you back to public space."
Dais, not wanting to make a scene like the one that Sam had made earlier, relented.
"If you feel it best to escort us to the market, then feel free to do so." While he
was not happy about having shadows, there was little that could be done about it.
Sam was doubly annoyed. He did not appreciate the offer, and trusted them even less.
There was definately something not right with the situation. However, he would not
test Dais further.
{thoughts from Firehawk?}
They headed off in the direction of the market that Dais had referred to. They had
passed it an their way, and it was not that far from the base.
