"It was not easy at all, mostly because of the razzing I took for having my brother
being the one that issued the demerits and extra duty. But I lived through it.
Samuel would say that I was a better officer for it. Older brothers are that way
aren't they...", Tyrus said appearing to be back to his old self.

"I wouldn't know," she said. "I was the oldest sibling in my family." She paused,
seeing he'd risen out of his funk a little. "Yourrr brrrotherr is a subtle man. He's
not like me, someone who wants to look an enemy orrr a prrroblem in the face and
confrrront it. He likes to wait and put all the necessarrry pieces into place
beforrre he acts. To those who arrren't in on it, it looks like he's doing nothing.
Maybe that's why Admirrral Ketterrring rrresponds so negatively to that. He's like me
in that he's an up-frrront, take it head-on kind of perrrson. But that doesn't mean
he's rrright. I had to learrrn that the harrrd way in my life and my carrreerr,
starrrting with that incident at the Academy. Sometimes you just have to look like
you'rrre playing along so yourrr rrreal plans don't fall aparrrt beforrre they'rrre
rrready forrr the masterrrstrroke. In my case, that masterrrstrroke was making
Admirrral, even though my detrrractorrs said I would neverrr make it in the fleet even
as a deck hand because I was too undisciplined. It took a long time, but I won in the
end."
