> >"I am a man of many surprises, Admiral. And speaking of Admiral
Kettering, I am sure that he will want to have a chat now that the
gathering is ending. Thank you for the chat, sir."

"Good evening, Admirrral," she replied with a nod. When he left, she watched to see
if he and Kettering would have their 'chat' there or in private elsewhere. She was
also watching Kettering to get a read off of his body language. She wanted to see if
she'd accomplished her goal of delaying his
actions.

Being the feline that she was she could make out the beginnings of what promised would
be an interesting conversation.

As Lasiter walked up, the tellerite, windbag groused, "You were awful quiet tonight.
Cat get your tounge?"

Kettering added, "My trusted leiutenant left me hanging tonight, I am dissapointed."

The tellerite could not hold back, as he was furious, "You should be more than that,
Admiral. It seems as if Ty here is turning into the yes man of his brother. One
little meeting, and he turns yellow."

The younger Lasiter looked hard at the tellerite. His anger begining to focus on the
other officer.

"Don't give me that hurt look. Rather convienent that you have a quite meeting with
your older brother, and just minutes later you let your CO, your friend go
defenseless. Of course we monitor your movements. We always have. Kettering and I
have never trusted you, being the younger kin of the CinC.

That was twice he mentioned his family connection to the CinC, and that was twice too
damned many.

"Get this straight. Whom I visit on my time is none of your business, particularily
when it is a family member. Now, I warned you. I warned you both. I told you that
something was not right, and that the CinC was getting wind of something. Now you are
nto only going to have to go up against him, but Jora and Kitanya to boot. I warned
you jsut minutes before this meeting started that big brother said he was watching and
listening. That's code. He is coming for you, not the other way around. Now that I
know what you think of my loyality, try to make it without it." he said quite angrily.

Angry enough for Kitanya to hear and for her to see his skin turn red, then pale.

Lasiter then turned about and starting walking away.

Kettering called after him, "Lasiter!" in his most authoritative voice. Which Lasiter
stopped, turned, saluted, then turned and left. Walking only a meter past Kitanya on
his way out, and then on past Rear Admiral Jora. For her part, Jora could nto hear,
but picked up the emotions. As Lastier passed her, and Kettering's eyes (and those
with him) moved up past her, they saw a large smile on her face. Large, contemptous,
and full of laughter.
