***The Journey Home***
It took just a few hours for the USS Protector to leave Ramesar space, and another few
to rendez vous with the escort - two frigates. Traveling with two ships fresh from
Earth ended much of the nervousness, as they were able to transmit updated casuality
lists, damage reports, and other news via ultra short range line of sight
communications. However, once they returned to warp, it was back to silence...
Bedru was relieved to hear that Lorin was ok. He suffered only minor injuries, and
was back on duty. Others were not so lucky. Commander M'Rrenn had died at the
funeral of Admiral Lasiter's son. Rear Admiral Garibaldi had also been shot, but was
expected to pull through. The news of two long time friends would surely effect the
boss...
Amoung the communications that reached the Protector in the brief burst of comm
traffic were orders.
James Watson received his next assignment, which was to assume the role of Ambassador
to a diplomatic council that was formed between the other powers in the galaxy-
Cardassians, Aqualish, Romulan, Klingon, etc. He would be representing the entire
UFP, taking over for Commander Na'Tral. The Commander was filling in until a
permenant Ambassador was selected. It was a step up for Watson, and the preparations
would keep his mind off his distant family.

Steven Liridian found himself no longer in Starfleet Intelligence. He had earned
himself a transfer of sorts to Special Operations as an assistant to Vice Admiral
Kitanya.

Ensign Caimlyn would temporarily be assigned to a Spec Ops unit on earth as part of
the emergency response to the explosion and the sniper attack. After that who knew
where he would end up, but such was the life of a Starfleet officer.

Katya, Nash, and Maggie didn't get anything, but that mattered little. Each knew what
would be waiting for them, so there was really no need for an official communique to
come through. They were professionals...
