(OOC: My apologies for sending this again, but I mistakenly hit the key to send it the first time.  This message has the conversation continued."

"What do you have in mind?" saked Jorgenson.

"If you provide us with names and testify for ourside, I would be willing to
say that you are nothing more than an accomplice. You knew what was going
on but you were not directly related to the activities." K'Tael did not
like what was coming out of his mouth, but it was probably for the best.

"Commander, before my client answers, I would like to speak with him alone
for a moment," interejected Ione.

K'Tael nodded as he stood. "I understand, Ms. Moiraine. I will be waiting
just outside. Let me know when you are ready for me to come back in."

Ione nodded before watching the Chief of Security depart. Once the doors shushed close, she turned to her client and started. "Mr. Jorgenson, this is very serious. I need you to tell me how you got the information Mr. K'Tael is talking about, and I need you to honestly tell me how involved you are.

Jorgenson was still quite nervous about what the hard tone the K'Tael had taken earlier. He was willing to say or do anything it would take to make sure that he did not spend the rest of his life in a penal colony in New Zealand or some other dread location. The sweat was bubbling up on his forehead and he wiped it off. "Uh ... well ... I had a bit of an idea about it beforehand, Ms. Moiraine."

<I am not going to play this game,> thought Ione to herself. "Mr. Jorgenson, I am going to need quite a bit more if I am going to be able to make sure that you are going to get out of prison someday. "Why don't you start by telling me when you first heard about the incident that was going to take place on the planet."

Jorgenson froze for a minute. It was clear that thinking about the answer was taking quite a bit of effort. "I think it was about three weeks ago."

"But that was before Admiral Lasiter's son had died," she said questioningly.

Jorgenson nodded.  "Yes, there was talk about trying to assassinate the Admiral even before his son died.  The funeral just provided an easy opportunity to attempt it."

Ione nodded.  It was not what she expected.  "How involved were you in the planning of the assassination attempt?"

"I knew almost nothing about it.  I had only heard rumors that it was going to happen and it was going to happen at the funeral.  I really did not know any of the details."

With a questioning look, Ione studied the Brother.  "Commander K'Tael told me that you had been overheard inthe Brig discussing the assassination attempt on the morning of the attack, and you had specifically said that members of his security detail were going to be a part of it."

Jorgenson nodded.  "That was what I had heard.  You have to understand, Ms. Moiraine.  We despise the Admiral for his willingness to work with the offworlders.  He not only does it for his job, but he is also bonded with that Venasian bit-----"

Ione raised a hand and glared at her client.  "I will not have you talk like that in front of me.  If Mr. K'tael or the court officials hear you talk like that, you might as well just admit your complicity in the attack."  Ione wiped a lock of hair out of her eyes.  "Mr. Jorgenson, I know your feelings about working with non-humans, but we need to concentrate on you were actually involved in.  Did you help plan the attack?"

Jorgenson quickly shook his head with fear at the seriousness of the situation.  "I just had heard rumors about what was going to happen.  I was just bragging about what was going to happen and what little information I had."

"Are you going to be willing to tell Mr K'Tael and the court what you know?"

Jorgenson responded with a nod.

"Are you willing to tell them who you received that information from?"

Jorgenson's skin paled once again.  "I can't."

"What do you mean you can't?"  asked Ione with surprise.  She had a feeling she knew the answer but she needed to hear it directly from him.

"If I don't tell, I am only going to go to jail.  They can only get me for abetting because that is all I did.  The Federation doesn't have the death penalty.  If I tell you or anyone else who I heard it from, I will die."

"Well, we are going to need to tell Mr. K'Tael more than what you have told me, Mr. Jorgenson.  He is very good at his job, and he is not going to quit until he is done.  With what you are telling me, I can guarantee that he is not going to consider this case closed."

"I understand that, Ms. Moiraine, but it is not going to do me any good if I volunteer the information to get a lighter sentence and find myself with a new pair of cement shoes."

Ione nodded.  She knew that she was not going to talk him into giving more information to the security chief.  "I will go bring, Mr K'Tael back," she said as she walked to the entrance to the room.

(K'Tael?)
