Hilda cleared her throat. "I am sorry to interrupt, but I am looking over
the scans of the 'eye', and I was curious as to whether or not anyone
noticed, that the structure of it appears to be human.  While all humanoids
have eyes with similar structures, the use of cones and rods, the layout of
the blood vessels and such vary from species to species.  Even the colors of
the irises can vary from species to species.  From what I can tell, the iris
of this eye is even brown."

Lorin spoke up, "We have to consider not only that this could be a potential
weapon but even possibly a new life form. Anyone in this room have First
Contact experience?"

Aravis looked toward the other two security guards.  Both shook there heads.
She had only ever served aboard space stations and outposts.  While she
had a lot of experience working with and meeting people of different races
and cultures, she had never actually been on a First Contact Assignment.
"None of us Red Shirts have, sir," she replied.  Even though Security had
not worn red in decades, it was still common to use the old nickname.

Hilda raised her hand.  "I have had some limited exposure on one of my first assignments.  I was part of a survey team when we met a small group of natives.  It was not intentional.  I was not part of the follow-up team that did the official First Contact assignment, though."
