"The Independent Venasian Commonwealth submits approval for the proposal," Dolari murmured. She was faintly amused by the passionate responses by the other races. However, this was no laughing matter. A life was at stake, after all. Pheromones and perspiration were all elevated. She paused to consider Melora Damesh. Cardassians were an intelligent race with a rich history and culture. However, they were also very cunning. It was possible Melora was involved, but she doubted it somehow. Melora eyed the human with disgust. "I do not see the reason why I must explain my vote, Ambassador," she responded.
"I believe that it would be useful to understand your point of view," responded Rilg. "We do not want to appeared to be attacking you or your government."
Melora was surprised by the comment. At the same time, she was also ruing how much she had underestimated the Ferengi. She had not expected him to be a major player on any mission, never mind this one. "I opposed the motion because my government has responded to this body's concerns. Golan Dulath is a citizen of the Cardassian Union. He has not been killed by his government, and I object to the undue criticism posed to us by this body into the internal affairs and welfare of the Cardassian Union and its citizens."
