> "How do we keep in touch, Thomas?"
"Through Dr. Ryan. Due to your position, it would be best if to keep the
connection between you and our organization as untraceable as possible.
Should our infiltration of Starfleet be traced, however, Dr. Ryan is an
expendable position."
Lucas appeared unaffected by Thomas's casual dismissal of his life. "I'll
try to keep you updated as much as possible, sir," he told Garibaldi.
"Thank you. That will do.", Garibaldi was not sure he liked the idea of Starfleet
being infiltrated, and he was certain that he did not like the idea of Lucas being
elimated. However, he did like the singular dedication to a single purpose. He found
the clarity refreshing, even is he had reservations for the potential cost of that
same singular mission. He played safe, and hid his feelings on the matter.
Soon they had gone through the maze of corridors and were back at the
landing site. Once they were on their way, Thomas asked, "Is there anything
else you'd like to know before we drop you at the beach, Admiral?"
"Admiral Lasiter received the token from your people in response to the death of his
son. You should know that he understands what it means, and is pleased to have such
friends amoungst your people. He will not forget it. However, I must ask. Was the
killing of his son part of A'amons doing?"
