Daphne was pleased to hear that things were going well with the felinid language. That breakthrough would help things out quite a bit. She made her way over to the the console where the Caitian was working and spoke as she went. "Very well, thank you. And you?"
"Well enough," she replied, with the slightest glance toward the Klingon and a wrinkle of her nose.
"What have you folks sorted out about the felinid language?"
"It sharrress a common rrroot with Caitian, but has some surrprrissing and dissturrrbing differrrencess. This confirrrmss the DNA analysssiss, that they arrre, orr rratherrr, werrre Caitiansss. It isss a rrratherr extrrreme dialect, but by tomorrrow we should have it fully enterrred into the trrransslatorr."
Daphne nodded as she listened. "Have we been able to use our new knowledge to learn anything from their conversations?"
"Not yet. We'rrre still gatherrring worrrd sssampless and sssorrrting out the grrrammarr. But it iss coming along."
"I had a meeting with Admiral Kitanya just before coming down here. She had an interesting suggestion. She thought we could use the holodecks to try and learn a little bit more about them."
Tr'Lawsh looked interested. "Interrressting. What isss yourrr idea?" she asked.
