Bedru's _expression_ did not change.  She met the Rhianna's eyes levelly.  So, the
game was indeed on.  No admission, but none was needed.  "I've learned that one
should never underestimate.  It almost always gets you in trouble.

"I do wonder, however, what might have motivated someone to use the Ferengis as
a conduit for this information."
Ael held the woman's steady gaze for a few moments, allowing the silence to settle.  Finally she shrugged, and lifted her mimosa to her lips yet again.  "If pushed to speculate," she said, "I would wonder if perhaps the information had not come into the hands of a group whose mutual animosity with the Cardassians was so great as to make the information immediately suspect were it to come from that group.  It is my understanding that the Ferengi did what they felt was necessary to independently verify the information, thus helping to dispel the notion that this was done simply to undermine the Cardassians which, I feel fairly comfortable presuming, was not at all the intent."
