He took his leave of them and moments later he was in Matt's room, being warmly
welcomed by his very old friend, and being introduced to the best man.
"Admiral Samuel Lassiter, this is Father Patrick Francis O'Malley. We've known
each other for about seven hundred years," he said with just enough of a laugh
to make it sound like a joke.
Though, in reality, it wasn't.
"Father, this is Admiral Lassiter, Commander in chief of Star Fleet."
"It is an honor, sir," the priest said to him, offering his hand.
Lasiter smiled with the joke, and took the extended hand of the priest, giving
it a firm shake. "The honor is mine, sir. The Good Doctor here and I have
become fast friends in our short time serving together. Meeting one of his
long time friends is quite a pleasure. I'm sure that after the ceremony, and a
relaxing drink, you can properly embarass him with a story to two." Again with
the smiles...
