> Out of breath, he reached a forcefield that separated the property ahead.
> Quickly, he pulled out an instrument and began scanning the field. If he
> could get the right frequency,....

"Bingo," he muttered as the instrument registered the frequency. He activated a
switch, and focused the beam that shot from the instrument at the forcefield.
When the beam automatically stopped, that was supposed to mean that a break had
been created in the forcefield.

Roach stepped forward. He breathed an involuntary sigh of relief when he did,
indeed, pass through the forcefield. He pocketed the instrument and thanked
his editor for approving the cost of the expensive little "toy."

He crepted towards the beach house. The back was bathed in light from several
lanterns. Not as bright as he would like, but enough to see.

Roach stopped dead in his tracks in shock before he remembered to lift his
camera.

"I can't believe it," he said as he brought the camera to sharp focus on what
was obviously a wedding party.

*** Elsewhere on the property ***

"Major Turner, I have something.", said Lt. Phillips to his superior.

"Yes, Leiutenant. What have you got?"

"There was a momentary drop in the security field's power levels. It appears
to have occurred on the leeward side of the property.", replied Phillips.

Turner did not look pleased. The drop in intensity levels could be due to
anything. However, given recent events... Caution was the order of the day.

"Lt. take Stone and Malone and check out the drop in power levels. Proceed as
if there is an intruder, as it is highly possible given recent events
concerning the Admirals. If you find one, detain and report.", he ordered.

With a nod of the head, Phillips and the other named security folk took off.

With that done, Major Turner turned the subject of his security detail.....

Barely a handful of seconds later, from their descrete locations Turner and two
other security officers became visible at the wedding. They were out of the
way, and one would not have known that they were there if they were not looking
for them. However, they were no longer taking a passive posture.

Naturally from their vantage points the Priest, the Groom, and the Best Man saw
their unexpected appearance.
