> Out of breath, he reached a forcefield that separated the property ahead.
> Quickly, he pulled out an instrument and began scanning the field. If he

"Bingo," he muttered as the instrument registered the frequency. He activated a
switch, and focused the beam that shot from the instrument at the forcefield.
When the beam automatically stopped, that was supposed to mean that a break had
been created in the forcefield.

Roach stepped forward. He breathed an involuntary sigh of relief when he did,
indeed, pass through the forcefield. He pocketed the instrument and thanked
his editor for approving the cost of the expensive little "toy."

He crepted towards the beach house. The back was bathed in light from several
lanterns. Not as bright as he would like, but enough to see.

Roach stopped dead in his tracks in shock before he remembered to lift his
camera.

"I can't believe it," he said as he brought the camera to sharp focus on what
was obviously a wedding party.
