"Are your people members of the Federation?"

The initial response was a nod.  "We have been for some time, but most
people do not know of us.  Our homeworld is small and in an remote area
of the Quadrant.  How about your people?"

"My people have not always had amicable ties to the Federation, but
things have improved with time.  After war about a generation ago, we
have recently become members."

Torgath smiled.  "That might explain why there are so few Brikarians in
the fleet. He glanced around the room.  "Have you met everyone here.
These folks are regulars on the Alpha shift so you will probably be
working with them for a while."

"That is true.  How long have you been aboard the station?"

"I have been stationed here about 6 months.  Before that I was stationed on Jupiter Station.  I have been out of the Academy for about a year."

Just then the watch officer stepped into the room and made her way over to the podium.  She dropped an old-fashioned binder on it and opened it up.  Surprisingly, it was Lt. Neera.  She glanced around the room and smiled as her eyes met those of Geb.

(Geb?)

Once she completed the scan of the room, she started, "Good morning, everyone.  I hope you are ready for a busy day.  We have received word of an illegal gumjat spice shipment that is likely to be coming through the station.  I want a good portion of this ship spent helping customs in checking out bags.  I am sending your assignments to your stations."

As she had mentioned earlier, Geb and Torgath were being assigned to work in Engineering.

(Geb?)
