The Admiral placed the PADD he was working with down on his desk.  "At ease, Captain.  Please take a >seat and relax.  Could I get  you something to eat or drink?"  Jared realized that it was lunch time.  It was clear that Jared was not the usual Admiral.

David sat down....he was immediately more comfortable with the softer approach, "An old Earth Coke please."

"I asked you to see me because I have been assigned to look into your recent mission.  I am a bit >concerned by some of the events that had happened while you were on assignment in the sector >commanded by Admiral VanDerLoo.  I understand that you suffered some injuries while you were there, and >the circumstances are ... suspicious."

"Yes, I received the message from Admiral Lasiter. To hear you say that is good....there's some very disturbing actions happening over there. Permission to speak frankly sir?"

Jared replied with a nod. "Go ahead, Captain." Jared was one of those officers who preferred to dispense with the formalities. They often made things more complicated than they needed to be.

"Admiral Van Der Loo is completely responsible for what is happening. His ego has overwhelmed any sense of responsibility for his actions."

"I did speak with him yesterday as well so a few other people, and that is not a complete surprise to hear." Jared picked up the PADD and a stylus in order to take notes. "Could you go over the basics of what happened to you while you were away. I have some of the details from looking at your reports, but I want to make sure that I am not missing anything."
