>Jared did not have to ask for the specifics of 'the Box.'  He had a pretty good idea of what it was, and it was >a form of torture.  If VanDerLoo was responsible, he was going to make sure that the other Admiral went >down.  "What can you tell me about the guards on the planetside?  Do you think they were working for >Starfleet or planetary security forces?"

"Here's what I gathered...we're supposed to be training the planetary security forces....but they're coming back at our own people. Kind of biting the hand that feeds them....but I think they're being told to somehow. It all comes down to Van Der Loo." There was a touch of vindictiveness in his voice.

Jared placed the PADD down and looked at his visitor.  He felt a great deal of compassion for the man sitting before him.  The treatment he went through is unforgivable.  "Captain, I am more than willing to pursue that line of investigation, but we have to be careful that we find full proof of what happen.  Otherwise, the people responsible will not get what they deserve."  He left out the fact that he did not want to prosecute VanDerLoo unless the man was truly guilty of the crime, and their sense of justice had to presume his innocence until they proved otherwise.
