She shivered and drew a deep breath before she opened her eyes and
fixed them on Brennan's face. "Matt, I thought I was stronger. But the idea
of
going through that again... I don't think I would survive this time."
The concern was an old one. It was not that she feared death. She feared the
lost of control again, that someone could force his will upon her. He raped
her mind as one might have raped her body.
"The idea is not to get captured, but to lure out those that would try. We
will have plenty of backup to ensure that we aren't captured. However, if we
are, you won't be alone like your last ordeal. I'll be there right with you."
While he knew of Bedru's previous experience as a captive, there were details
of the experience that he was not aware of. Naturally, he felt for her, and
offered his support. The decision to go ahead with the assignment or ask the
CinC to change his orders was up to her.
