Actually, it's not likely an incorrect entry in SPEWS.. At least, not from the definition of what spews is and what they are supposed to list.


One thing you need to understand about spews is that the SPEWS list has a policy of "intentional collateral damage". Spews gradually expands the size of a blacklist and eventually lists large blocks of IP addresses in an effort to pressure the ISP to disconnect one customer.

SPEWS is not a spammers-only list, and it never has been. It's a "spammers and anyone that uses an ISP that hasn't speedily disconnected one or more spammers" list. It's a VERY aggressive list.

It's got good uses in some places, but from the sound of things you used it without fully understanding what it is and the implications of using it.
