Ya, its been a given for a long time that the crooks who are actually making money at
the spam game are the sellers of spamware + addresslists, thats one of the reasons why
Virginia did the smart thing and outlawed spamware.
The whole business is a CON, the seller of spamware & lists convinces some sucker
that spam is profitable based on some sillyassed porjecttion based on assuptions about
how many people will respond to an email advertising campaign. I've seen spam ads
that state "20% favorable response rate"
ya right, one would have to be VERY gullible to take that bait, but apparently there
are suckers out there for this sort of thing. The whole spam game rip-off is based on
LIES & FRAUD, and for that reason I support legislation to curb the practice. I know
we really can't expect to arrive at some magical "Zero spam" condition but we can sure
put a dent in it.
