Hello Ara, Spanning Tools for Mac and Spanning Sync are two separate products. One doesn't require or rely on the other. However, anyone that syncs their data to other devices and servers knows (or should know) that a) small problems in one data store can propagate to others and soon become big problems and b) often the cause of such problems is the sync software itself. It's for this reason that we offer a $5 discount on Spanning Tools for Mac to Spanning Sync customers.
Just to clarify: the recommendations of Spanning Tools for Mac aren't specific to Spanning Sync at all. For example, the warning that some events start before 1970 is due to older Palm phones not being able to deal with such events. Regardless of Spanning Tools for Mac, it sounds like you're having some issues with Spanning Sync. We'd like to help. If you haven't already, could you contact us at [email protected]?
