I've noticed a similar problem with syncing as well lately. I have an error message stating "Google reported an unknown error" but nothing more detailed. Also, under Spanning Sync preferences it doesn't not appear as if I'm signing in. Trying to do so manually is unsuccessful. Can you offer any assistance?
