Some obvious fixes are to make sure that under the debugging setting for the
SMCONSOLE that the "Enable console debugging" is disabled, and that the
communication back to policy database is stable. We are required to pass
through a Checkpoint Firewall-1 firewall, and whenever there is a change to
the firewall rules we loss our connection to the Oracle DB with a reboot of
the web server being the only fix. Make sure that in the console that
policy db is correctly stated, and the username and password are correct. I
have probably pointed out the most obvious things, but they fixed all of my
SiteMinder worries.

We just went live last week with
a Spectra implementation for the
American Petroleum Institute at
http://www.api.org.
Unfortunately, this morning both
the SiteMinder services have stopped
responding to requests and we can't
get either of them started. We have
bumped the box a few times to no avail.
If I try to start one service, say the
SiteMinder Authorization Service, it
will turn off SiteMinder Authentication,
and vice versa.
Anyone seen this before. We changed no
code nor did we do ANYTHING to this machine.
The services simply stopped working.
