Hi :-) I'm a bit ambivalent about not allowing pops anymore. Popping does happen rather often on the larger cubes (at least for me), and yes i can see that it's possible to force a pop and hence abuse it.
But really i'd like to comment on changes NOT made. I think honestly that the rule saying that a twisted centre on a 5x5x5 cube is a DNF is far too strict. Can anyone explain the logic behind that rule/interpretation, cause i cannot with my best will see it. I have posted about this before. There is no way a twisted centre can be abused. It only makes cubing slower, and there is no ambiguity as to whether the cube is solved. I also have a suggestion about putting the scrambled and solved cube a minimum distance from the sensors used to start and stop the time. This could prevent cheating. And finally i would like to see that stickers will be allowed for fewest moves competitions. Again i cannot see any reasons why not. It will be the competitors responsibility to provide own stickers and not to overrun on time (as always). The rules could say that stickers should be self-adhesive so that no tape will be needed or allowed to attach them to the cube. That's my 2 dollars ... lol ...
