Oh, just for the fun of it, here's Uri Geller in the Tonight Show:

I've seen him do this on German TV a year or so ago. If I remember
correctly, it goes like this:

Several boxes are on the table, all empty except one into which you've
put some item. Geller puts his hand above them and then separates them
in half, sliding half of them to the side a bit. Then he asks you to
choose one of the groups which is then kept while the other is
dismissed (or vice versa). Then he repeats until only one box remains.
It is openend and hooray, the item is in it.

As a non-magician (I tried to as a kid, but I suck as entertainer) my
first idea would be to feel whether a box contains the item when I
slide it. There might be more clever methods but I don't know any.
Anyway, since I then know in which half it is, I choose what your
choice means: keep or dismiss. The usual spectator is so busy with
watching closely, that he doesn't notice it's not always the same
rule.

Geller supposedly "feels" where the item is simply by putting his hand
*above* the boxes. So in the show, they of course didn't let him touch
them. And guess what... he couldn't do it. And his very reasonable
explanation is that he doesn't feel strong. Pity that the majority of
the public still believes in this stuff.

Cheers!
Stefan
