Has anyone tried a Petrus like solve?

2x2x2
3x3x3
3x3x4
3x4x4
4x4x4
or something like that not sure if you would want to start 
out/progress like that. 3x3x3 is not to difficult to get, I just 
have a tough time w/other steps.  (normally use centers, edges, 3x3, 
parity)
