Hi, I have created a linux boot CD for bonded ADSL in the UK using Speedtouch USB modems. http://www.freestuffjunction.co.uk/bondedcd.shtml
I have a number of people using the latest version of the CD without any problems to "bond" multiple ADSL lines using MLPPP. However, there is one guy I'm trying to help at the moment who is trying to bond 4 ADSL lines using 4 Speedtouch, and he's getting "Resource temporarily unavailable" from PPP with two of the four modems like this: Sep 6 17:05:54 CBI_UK modem_run[215]: modem_run version 1.2 started by root uid 0 Sep 6 17:06:12 CBI_UK modem_run[216]: [monitoring report] ADSL link went up Sep 6 17:06:30 CBI_UK modem_run[215]: ADSL synchronization has been obtained Sep 6 17:06:30 CBI_UK modem_run[215]: ADSL line is up (2272 kbit/s down | 288 kbit/s up) Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[234]: Plugin /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.2b3/pppoatm.so loaded. Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[234]: PPPoATM plugin_init Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[234]: PPPoATM setdevname - remove unwanted options Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[234]: PPPoATM setdevname_pppoatm - SUCCESS:0.0.38 Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[235]: pppd 2.4.2b3 started by root, uid 0 Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[235]: connect(0.0.38): Resource temporarily unavailable Sep 6 17:06:32 CBI_UK pppd[235]: Exit. We're using kernel mode driver, with the mainline 2.6.7 kernel, modem_run v. 1.2. I've seen this error message before on this list. Anyone know what is causing the problem? Is it to do with firmware, with modem_run, with the Speedtouch hardware itself, or a bug in USB kernel code? He is using a D-Link PCI USB card which I know works as I use the same card myself with 2 Speedtouch and kernel 2.6.8.1. All 4 Speedtouch report Vendor=06b9 ProdID=4061 Rev= 0.00 in /proc/bus/usb/devices If anyone can shed any light I'd be extremely grateful.
