Dear Duncan, here comes my new iteraction:
> If you look at the top-right of your keyboard, you should find somewhere > an obscure key with SysRq written on it... Ugh! Sorry for this really silly question! > Are you saying that your system hangs even if the modem is not plugged > in? Yes! Even when I unplug the modem, the system gets locked. The keyboard also stops to answer, so, the keys you asked me to press doesn't work. > If you could reboot and have a look, that would be great. During the reboot, I could see only 1 strange thing: /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: line 274: data: command not found. This message was not shown before installing the Benoit's script. And the last message always is shown before hanging is: mDNSResponder ... And the [Ok] newer shows up. Does it seem to be unfixable?? Will I be sentenced to not using my modem under Fedora 3??? Thank you again for this help, friend. Hervandil PS: I have 655 MB ram, 128 Mb gforce TI 4200 and an ASUS A7N8X (Athlon XP 2000).
