Thank you very very much for your help.
But connection does not work >:o :-(

Yousry, believe me that I followed your indications step by step, I used
exactly the same files but connection does not work. To be sure that there
was no previous errors I reinstalled Suse but no way.

I also tried again the "linux.usb.org" steps for Suse 9.3 (after
reinstalling again Suse to be sure that the system was clean of previous
errors) but connection does not work.

I am sure that all data I put are correct: login, password, (my modem is the
silver one -revision 4), I am sure that my connection is PPPoE, Spain VPI
VCI numbers are 8 and 32 (I even called my internet supplier to be sure of
everything) but connection does not work.

I checked the chap and pap-secrets files and tried to put login and password
data with different quotation marks: ', ", even without quotation marks but
connection does not work.

Below you will see the end part of the script i got as per
http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/:

---------------------------------

Settings:
  VPI / VCI : 8 / 32
  Login : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  Password : adslppp
Are these correct? (Y/N)

I know you did your best to help me and really I do not want to bother all
of you anymore but if you have an small idea of what happens I would really
appreciate, because I am starting to be upset.
Perhaps should I change of distribution?

I learnt that there is a program called Wine used to start Windows from
Linux. You know, to connect internet and get help without closing Suse but
while installing new errors... I went to a corner of my room and started to
cry. Next Monday I have an appointment with my psychiatrist to try to
arrange the traumas this modem configuration is causing to me.

Thank you very much
Santi
