Hi Andrew.. I am fine.. I am online and just fine.. The problem that I had used http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/. There, the firmware SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip. is used for the silver modem. This is the firmware on the speedtouch.com website. However, it NEVER worked for me. Don't know why, I am using Mandriva 10.2
But when I used http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/ it definitely worked . the point is that there, I had to run the script and use the newer version for the Silver modem, rev4fw.zip.
