This is less normal. How did you check that you had no connection?
The usual problem here is that you are connected but that your name
servers (DNS) are not setup right. That means that you can ping a
numerical address, eg:
ping 216.109.117.109
works. But you can't ping a name, eg:
ping www.yahoo.com
fails. Is that the case with you?
