Joe, About half a year ago there was a conversation about swing springs in the rotoflex rear end here. I had the same question you have. Got forwarded a response from Kas on the subject that you may find interesting.
"In checking the yellow book, which I wrote, there is reference to a heavier rear spring (special, probably a lot like what you are now running) but NOTHING about a swing spring which I never did like. BUT, they had silly Mike Barratt "revise" the issue I think and then who knows what might be in there. Mike never built anythng of which I am aware.
