Around here 93 seems to be the labeled octane on all the "high-test" 
pumps.  It used to be that Sunoco Ultra was 94, but now it is also 
listed as 93.  I used to run Ultra all the time, but I can't say it 
is any worse with the current 93's, maybe even better.  Of course, 
this area being in the (used-to-be-)snow-belt, it is flooded with 
Subarus which require a high octane gas, so I've been told.

I believe the comp ratio was 9:1, compared to the traditional 7.5:1.
