I know when mine were going out (as well as other non-Saturns) I could put it in both 1st (or drive for auto) and also in reverse and while it is in gear hold down the brake and give it a little gas. If the engine rocks more than normal one of your mounts is worn and needs to be replaced. Of course this goes after physical inspection for damage/wear of the mounts them selves.
