On the subject of composition I have a 'rule' that I follow whenever
shooting trains. It is simple and to the point: Find a location that would
make a good and/or interesting photo without a train in it, and then wait
for a train to show up. I feel that trying to follow rules of thirds,
halves or whatever other rules someone wants to lay down, takes the art and
creativity out of it.
